Krejci | 'Finishing the season strong is my aim'

Ladislav Krejci insists the mentality and desire to finish the season strongly, despite relegation, has remained at Compton Park this week.

The Old Gold will be playing Championship football next season but have four opportunities before the Premier League campaign ends to build momentum and improve the feeling around Molineux before then.

Krejci, who is set to captain the Czech Republic at the World Cup, missed the Tottenham Hotspur game due to injury, but is determined to not let this season fizzle out after a promising set of results earlier this year.

On maintaining professionalism

“For me, it’s very important. It’s the same as it was at the beginning, I don’t see the difference. Of course, the situation is different, but for me every game we’re representing Wolves, our fans, our club, so I will go in the same direction.”

On bringing a buzz back to Molineux

“We 100 per cent want to return to the Villa and Liverpool atmospheres. That’s what we’re looking for, what we’re training for, and it was our aim to have it at this point. Unluckily we didn’t continue with it, but it’s something we feel we can do. We’ll be looking to do it again.

“Four games is a long time, a lot of opportunities to show that we’re taking it seriously and not just throwing the games behind our backs.”

On the focus here and now

“This mentality is from everyone. I’m grateful for it, because everyone knows what we’re still playing for. We’ll do our best.

“The World Cup is something I’m looking forward to, but we still have games to play here and I’m concentrating on them. Finishing the season strong is my aim.”
