New deal for young forward

Wolves under-23 forward Dongda He has signed a new contract with the club until 2023.

The 18-year-old joined the club from Notts County in the summer of 2018 and has been a regular in and around the under-23 group since.

Having feature six times across the Premier League 2 Division 1 and Checkatrade Trophy campaigns this term, He took his opportunity in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Given a start against Leamington Spa in February, the teenager scored a sensational goal in Wolves’ 2-0 victory, providing the standout moment of the youngster’s season to date.

After agreeing terms, He said: “It was a proud and happy moment for me and my family, hearing a few weeks ago that Wolves were going to offer me a new contract – we’re all very happy and excited.

“Coming from a League Two club to the Premier League, there’s a lot of changes, things I’ve had to adapt to, but when I first joined Wolves everyone made me feel very welcome – it’s a big family, like a wolfpack.

“It shows hard work pays off. Now, my main focus is working hard daily in training. Of course, now, it’s hard with the coronavirus, but I’m keeping fit and I can’t wait to get back to training.

“Right now, I’m just working hard, staying focused to get a place in the under-23s squad, so I can start hopefully this season, or even next season. Of course, the main goal is to make my debut for Wolves – that would be a proud moment for me and my family.”
