The 17-year-old, who has signed a two-year deal, joined the club as a schoolboy from Manchester City during the 2020/21 campaign and under Steve Davis last season was handed the opportunity to impress, which he took.
Packing plenty of energy, Kaleta usually operates at right-back and revels in defending, but also shows a regular willingness to join attacks on the right.
Last season the youngster made 16 Premier League Under-18 appearances and turned out twice during the under-18s’ run to the FA Youth Cup semi-final.
Jon Hunter-Barrett, Wolves Academy manager for football, said: “This is reward for him and his hard work since joining the club. His personality was one of the main reasons we brought him here and he wanted to come in and improve.
“We think it’s the right time for him to progress to the next stage of his development. He’ll remain part of Steve Davis’ under-18s set up until he moves to the under-23s on a more permanent basis.”
Having returned from injury during the middle part of the campaign, Kaleta finished strongly and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Dexter Lembikisa and Harry Birtwistle, who stepped up from the under-18s to under-23s last term.
“He’s a solid personality, a great character to have around, and adds value to what we’re trying to do. He’s got massive physical attributes that will stand him in good stead for professional football.
“He’s certainly a physical full-back, who enjoys defending and enjoys the battle – defending in one versus one situations. He’s also got the capabilities to join attacks in the opposing half, and he’s that type of player.
“His personality and leadership skills put him in a really good place within the group. His aim for the season ahead is to continue with the same dedication and focus that he has done so far and keep progressing.”
