The club has been working on the safest, fairest and most flexible way possible to allow season ticket holders access to watch games at Molineux once the stadium reopens to supporters in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With Molineux certain to operate with a reduced capacity once supporters are allowed back inside the stadium, a decision has been made to pause season tickets until full capacity resumes, and offer tickets on a match-by-match basis while there is still uncertainty surrounding spectators at sporting events.
Unlike other Premier League clubs, Wolves will not be asking supporters to pay for a full season ticket up front when they will not have access to every home league game, and will instead be offering 2019/20 season ticket holders the chance to buy tickets on a match-by-match basis, when they feel safe, ready and comfortable to attend.
Loyalty points and purchasing history will remain unaffected while the stadium is not at full capacity, making sure season ticket holders who are medically shielding, or uncomfortable about returning to Molineux due to the ongoing pandemic, are not penalised. Season ticket credits from the 2019/20 season will also be held until season tickets are once again available to fans.
Vinny Clark, general manager for commercial operations, said: “We know that our capacity is going to be reduced dramatically going into the new season, which isn’t ideal for anyone; the club nor the fans.
“We’ve spent a lot of time trying to decide what the best outcome would be with the hand that we’ve been dealt. We’ve played out countless scenarios, but the overarching theme that ran through all our decision making was around fairness and the safety of our supporters.
“It’s not been an easy decision to make, but we hope the system we are putting in place will be the safest, fairest and most flexible way possible to allow our season ticket holders access to Molineux once games resume in front of supporters.
“We recognise people will be frustrated that they can’t go to every game, as we know there are fans who pride themselves on having watched the team at all home and away games for many years, but we are continuing in our duty of care to fans, providing them with a safe environment to watch football.
“We would like to thank our supporters for being patient with us during the unprecedented times we are all facing, and we want to assure season ticket holders that this isn’t a permanent measure, and it will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.”

How will it work?
During matches played at a reduced capacity, the number of season ticket holders will vastly outweigh the number of match tickets available, therefore the club is working on a system that gives season ticket holders the fairest access to available tickets, while enabling them to take up their normal season ticket when full capacity resumes.
Season ticket holders will be grouped either by household or by having registered as a non-household group, with these groups randomly allocated into pots.
Each home game will then be allocated a pot of supporters who will be invited to purchase a ticket for that particular game.
Pots will be allocated to games as fairly and evenly as possible, depending on match category, and ticket sales are likely to commence around three weeks before each applicable match.
It is anticipated that the demand among season ticket holders will be high, therefore making availability unlikely to other supporters at this time.
Further information regarding pot allocations, ticket prices and dates of sales will be announced when matches with supporters present are confirmed.
