While UK Government made an announcement this week that they would not be enforcing a mandatory full Covid status certification from the 1st October 2021, the announcement did not rule out a future change to current guidelines should the NHS come under unsustainable pressure, with additional measures potentially including the possibility of mandatory vaccine-only Covid-status certification.
Therefore Wolves, and other Premier League clubs, will continue to gather data from supporters, enabling clubs to feedback information regarding the Covid vaccine status for those who attend Molineux on a matchday.
Supporters are able to decline to participate in the process, and any supporters that do, or are unable produce evidence, will not be denied entry to the stadium.
The spot checks, which were introduced at the last home game against Manchester United, will be conducted by Fan Ambassadors who are easily identifiable in purple hi-vis jackets. At that game, 71% of supporters asked provided the relevant proof of vaccination or negative test.
The check will involve supporters over the age of 18 being asked to produce their NHS Covid Pass or a negative Covid test result, either printed or on a mobile device. Data regarding participation and feedback regarding the check process will be then shared with the Premier League (this will not include any personal details).
Fan Ambassadors will be located around the stadium, including at the away turnstiles and in hospitality areas and the spot check process should take only a few seconds to complete.
Wolves urge supporters to co-operate wherever possible as feedback from this process is important to ensure that checks for future fixtures are able to operate smoothly, to ensure the safety of everyone attending the stadium, whilst allowing Molineux to continue operating at full capacity.
Before every game, adult supporters are encouraged to obtain a Covid Pass via the NHS App or NHS website so that they can provide proof of full vaccination or a negative test within the past 48 hours, for the safety of all supporters in the ground. Details of how to obtain an NHS Covid Pass are available here.
