Wolves give backing to RBL’s Poppy Appeal

Wolves will support The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal at the upcoming Premier League fixtures against Everton and Crystal Palace, while Molineux will also pay its respects to those that lost their lives in conflict.

As a show of support to the appeal, Wolves, alongside all Premier League clubs, will once again wear special-edition shirts embroidered with a poppy in the next two fixtures, leading up to this year’s remembrance weekend.

Following the fixtures, one match-worn shirt from each Wolves player will be signed and made available to purchase in an auction, with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.

Monday night’s match with Everton is also Wolves’ annual Remembrance fixture, and supporters are advised to be in their seats early to join the commemorations prior to kick-off.

Corporal Harriet Wellings, Captain Wayne Picken and Lieutenant Joe Jamie, all members of the armed forces, will be in attendance at the game, and will be pitchside during the minute’s silence which will be held before the game gets underway.

The Premier League’s Poppy Appeal support has seen more than £2.3 million raised for the Legion since the partnership began in 2012.
