The midfielder was voted the winner after being nominated for a second time this season, in what was a particularly outstanding month for the experienced Portuguese international.
In his four matches throughout the month, Moutinho turned back the clock with two goals and an assist, in the wins on the road against Manchester United and Brentford, while also performing admirably in the triumphs at home to Sheffield United and Southampton to help Wolves secure a 100 per cent start to 2022.
Having only scored twice in his entire Wolves career, he doubled his tally during January, including notching the winner at Old Trafford for the second time, as the old gold tasted success at the ground for the first time in 42 years.
Lots going on this week...

Ahead of missing out in the last two Premier League matches due to injury, Moutinho’s stunning January also saw him nominated for the Premier League player of the month, however the midfielder missed out to Man United’s David De Gea – despite notching against the keeper in the clash at Old Trafford.
Despite missing out on the league-wide award, Moutinho was voted as Wolves’ start performer for last month, taking the title ahead of two-time winner Jose Sa and fellow midfield maestro Ruben Neves, as a record seven players were nominated for the award.

- Moutinho 44%
- Sa 23%
