Molineux set for another lively atmosphere

Wolves supporters can make the difference on Saturday and are encouraged to arrive early, as Molineux prepares for a special atmosphere for the visit of Aston Villa.

Like in recent weeks, the Sir Jack Hayward Stand will become a sea of flags pre-match, with fans encouraged to build a lively atmosphere early ahead of the club’s crucial penultimate home game of the season.

The flag displays, provided by Old Gold Pack, have grown over recent months, with supporters playing a crucial role in helping Wolves earn vital Premier League victories over Chelsea, Brentford and Crystal Palace last month.

The Old Gold Pack want their visual displays to extend to other Molineux stands, with supporters in the Steve Bull, Stan Cullis and Billy Wright Stands encouraged to bring scarves in a show of support for their #WanderersScarf campaign.

The campaign will be added to with the latest appearance of the crowd surfer banner, which will adorn the Stan Cullis stand pre-match, further helping the atmosphere in the lead-up to kick-off.

In his pre-match press conference, Julen Lopetegui said: “We need points to achieve our aim. It’s about the will to win and we have to achieve our aim. It’s going to be hard, it’s going to be long, and we have to be ready in the good and bad moments. We are in the middle of the war, like a lot of teams. That’s why we have to put out 100 per cent energy in the next match.

“Saturday we have a challenge and I’m sure the fans are going to understand the importance of the match, we are going to need this help, this environment, this energy in the bad moments. I am sure the fans are going to help a lot in the next match.”

Before referee Stuart Attwell blows the whistle, Molineux will mark the coronation of King Charles III – an historic day in British history.

In tribute to the occasion pre-match, the coronation coverage will be broadcast live in the concourses pre-match, Samantha Oxborough will perform the national anthem live on the Molineux pitch.

The performance will provide the final showpiece moment before kick-off.

Post-match, supporters are asked to leave the flags in their seats, allowing them to be used at the club’s final home game of the season against Everton later this month.
