Wolves supporters in New York will come together on Saturday morning for the US premiere of 1967, when LA Wolves conquered the USA, followed by a live screening of the Newcastle United fixture.
New York Wolves Supporters Club, established in 2018 by David Koppe and Daniel John and now boasting 250 members, will meet at McHale's Bar & Grill [251 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019] at 11am on Saturday and buckle in for a Wolves double header.
LA Wolves, a fascinating Wolves Studios documentary detailing how the Old Gold claimed the first official US soccer title, was premiered at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton recently to 150 special guests, and now supporters in New York can enjoy the new release.
The official US premiere of the documentary will start at 11am at McHale's, giving America-based supporters a first glimpse of the 30-minute documentary, which tells one of the most remarkable stories in the history of Wolves, highlighting the part the club played in the start of soccer in the USA.
Following the premiere, attention turns to the modern day, as Gary O’Neil’s side welcome Newcastle to Molineux, in a Premier League fixture which will kick-off at 12.30pm New York time.
The event is the latest of a series of club activations in the US and further afield, and to mark the premiere, supporters in attendance will have the chance to win limited edition LA Wolves merchandise. The Premier League and NBC will also be in attendance, to create content for their channels.
David Koppe, co-chairman of New York Wolves, said: “We have a great group of fans here in New York who meet up for most matches. This is an extra special watch party as we’re delighted to be hosting the first US screening of how Wolves helped start football in the USA. All Wolves fans are welcome to join us on Saturday – whether you are local to the New York area or just visiting.”
The event is free to supporters, both members and non-members of New York Wolves Supporters Club. To confirm attendance simply register by clicking here.
