Black Country derby travel advice

The West Midlands travel network is set to come under increased pressure before Sunday’s Black Country derby, so the club is issuing travel advice for supporters in conjunction with local stakeholders.

More than 4,000 Wolves supporters will make the 13-mile trip to The Hawthorns to watch Gary O’Neil’s side in the 11.45am kick-off.

Supporters are urged to plan ahead to ensure that their journey factors in that transport methods will be busier than usual and to avoid disruption to their journey.

Those making the trip should allow additional time to make their way to the stadium and plan to arrive early where possible.

Train

West Midlands Trains services between Wolverhampton and Walsall will run between Birmingham New Street and Walsall only. Local stopping services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street will not run.

Metro

A Sunday service will be in operation on the WM Metro service. The service is likely to come under pressure due to being a popular transport method to The Hawthorns.

Supporters are encouraged to consider other options before deciding to travel via the WM Metro.

Bus

Buses across the West Midlands will be operating on a usual Sunday timetable on matchday. There are no direct buses between Wolverhampton and West Bromwich.

For up to date bus information, please check the Transport for West Midlands website.

Coach

Official Wolves coach travel is still available for supporters to purchase, departing at 10am and priced at £16. Coaches depart from Molineux, with parking for coach users available free of charge on the Stan Cullis Stand.

The official coaches will benefit from a police escort to the stadium and again when departing The Hawthorns, arriving back at Molineux after the game. Tickets can be booked online or over the phone on 0371 222 1877.

Car

Fans travelling to The Hawthorns by car can pre-book parking spaces directly with West Brom’s parking partner, EST.

At least three car parks will be open within one mile of The Hawthorns offering 500 spaces available in total. Car parking starts at £10 per vehicle and can be purchased online here or by calling 02476 997605.

Car parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and any supporters requiring accessible parking are advised on book on the National Timber Site.

Car parks will be open from three hours before kick-off and will close two hours after the final whistle.
