Wolves Express | Reuniting Wolves' 2008/09 Championship winners

The latest episode of the Wolves Express podcast is now available with several members of the 2008/09 Championship winning side reflecting on their promotion - 15 years on.

Joining a special anniversary episode of the podcast, George Elokobi, Matt Jarvis, Michael Kightly, Sam Vokes and Kyel Reid speak about their memories of the title-winning season, which saw the Old Gold secure promotion back to the top flight after a five-year absence.

Full-back Elokobi, who missed a large chunk of the campaign through injury, discusses why the season was still so special to him and what it felt to be part of the team which was able to bring Premier League football back to the gold half of the Black Country.

The current Maidstone United manager also reflects on his club's run to the FA Cup fifth round last season, which saw him narrowly miss out on bringing his team 'home' to Molineux in the quarter-final following defeat to Coventry City.

Striker Vokes, who was only 18 when he signed for Wolves in the summer of 2008, talks about helping the side get their campaign off to an unbeaten start thanks to his goal on his debut in the opening game away at Plymouth Argyle, while winger Kightly reveals why he believes he was never able to reproduce the displays he showed in Old Gold later in his career.

His fellow winger Jarvis talks about exactly when he thought Wolves would have enough to lift the Championship title, as well as focusing on two of the games which he believes were key to the team's success - the early season 5-1 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at Molineux and the dramatic 3-2 win over Derby County in April.

Finally, after scoring the goal which secured Wolves the 2008/09 Championship title in a come from behind draw away at Barnsley, Reid remembers the feeling of finding the back of the net and the sea of supporters who ran onto the pitch to celebrate the team's success with him - much to manager Mick McCarthy's distain.

During the summer, Wolves Express will still be packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club.
