Visit Lauderdale become official destination partner

Following a successful two-week stay in Greater Fort Lauderdale during Wolves’ US pre-season tour, Visit Lauderdale has been announced as the club’s official destination partner for the 2024/25 season.

In July, Gary O’Neil’s first-team headed to the US to compete in the inaugural Stateside Cup, before facing Champions League side RB Leipzig at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

The club based its operations at the impressive W Hotel on the beachfront in Fort Lauderdale, with daily training sessions taking place at the Florida Blue Training Center located next to Chase Stadium.

Dave Thomson (Wolves head of partnerships), Glen Allen (Visit Lauderdale VP sports & entertainment), Stacy Ritter (Visit Lauderdale president & CEO), Camila Clark (Visit Lauderdale SVP marketing & communications) and Russell Jones (Wolves GM marketing commercial growth) at the Florida Blue Training Center.

In addition to their intensive training and fixture schedule, Wolves players and staff also had the opportunity to take in some of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s sites and enjoy some of the attractions that the area has to offer.

On a rare day off from training, Visit Lauderdale hosted a private boat trip aboard the local Water Taxi so players and staff could enjoy a small stretch of the 300+ miles of navigable waterways that has seen Greater Fort Lauderdale dubbed as the ‘Venice of America’.

Greater Fort Lauderdale also provides the perfect location to access Florida’s famous Everglades at Sawgrass Recreational Park, which allowed some of the more adventurous members of the Wolves first-team squad to experience the state’s more exotic wildlife on an airboat tour.

The Visit Lauderdale team promotes the Greater Fort Lauderdale area as a premier, year-round leisure and meeting destination and will look to showcase the very best that Greater Fort Lauderdale has to offer to Wolves fans over the coming season.

Visit Lauderdale president and CEO, Stacy Ritter, said: "We are excited to partner with Wolverhampton Wanderers as their official destination partner.

“This international collaboration highlights Greater Fort Lauderdale's global appeal and underscores our commitment to bringing people from around the world to experience the vibrancy and diversity of our region

“We look forward to celebrating this partnership and inviting Wolves fans from across the globe to explore all that Greater Fort Lauderdale has to offer."
