Wolves Express | Last minute heartbreak and VAR controversy

Wolves' defeat at home to Manchester City and the contentious VAR decision surrounding the late winner is the focus of the first Wolves Express podcast of the week.

Head coach Gary O'Neil gives his thoughts on the display against last season's Premier League champions at Molineux, as his Wolves side took Man City all the way before falling short in the last moments of the contest.

Despite the result, which leaves Wolves still searching for their first win of the new campaign after the most difficult start to the season for any team in the top flight, O'Neil was proud of the performance put on by his players, as they bounced back from a 'disastrous' showing at Brentford last time out to go toe-to-toe with a side pushing once again for the title.

City's winner, which saw John Stones head home from a corner in the final minutes of the match, was shrouded in controversy after Bernardo Silva - stood in an offside position - was deemed not to be interfering for Jose Sa, and O'Neil compares the situation to that of last season which saw Wolves have a similar late goal disallowed against West Ham United.

Listeners to the Monday's episode of the club's official bitesize podcast can also hear what Wolves' goalscorer on Sunday, Jorgen Strand Larsen, has to say about the match, as the Norwegian striker admits the players are feeling hurt once again after another game slipped away.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
