The latest episode of Wolves Unpacked is out now, as hosts Dave Edwards and James Bird reflect the positives and negatives which came out of Wolves' loss to West Ham United.
Going on a deep dive into the tactics and intricacies of disappointing display in east London, Edwards starts with the positives which came out of the evening, as the former Old Gold midfielder felt the team deserved more out of the game after producing a decent attacking display at the London Stadium.
However, much of their analysis on the latest episode of Wolves Unpacked was about the defensive frailties which have affected Gary O'Neil's side in recent weeks, leading to a run of three defeats on the bounce.
Edwards discussed the need for Wolves to get the defensive side of their game right, after conceding once again from a set-piece, while also looking at the poor game management shown by the team this season and how they are conceding goals at the worst possible times, with the West Ham goals coming straight after half time and moments after Wolves got themselves level.
The pair also chat about how difficult it is for players to block out external criticism, Mario Lemina's emotional outburst following the final whistle, while Edwards gives a deep dive into the intricacies of how Wolves are currently defending set-pieces and recommends how they should be doing it.
There is also praise for Matt Doherty who has been one of the standout players during the last few games after returning to the team, with Edwards describing the Irishman's performance against the Hammers as 'classic Doc', while his former teammate describes what it's like to play alongside the wing-back.
