Wolves Express | New cup campaign gets underway in Bristol

The latest episode of Wolves Express is now available as head coach Vitor Pereira and defender Matt Doherty look ahead to Saturday's FA Cup third round tie against Bristol City.

With the visit to Ashton Gate tomorrow lunchtime set to get Wolves' Emirates FA Cup campaign underway, the head coach gives a fitness update on his players after several first-team regulars were missing in the Premier League defeat against Nottingham Forest earlier this week.

Pereira also discussed the signing of central defender Emmanuel Agbadou, how the Ivorian will fit into the system he is currently setting Wolves up in and what he expects the defender to add to the squad.

The head coach also gives an update on Wolves' January transfer plans, what moves the club is likely to make, as well as hinting at which of his goalkeepers will be starting on Saturday lunchtime and recalling some of his FA Cup memories.

As the only member of the squad to have faced Bristol City in Old Gold before, 300 Club member Matt Doherty also joins the podcast to look back at some of his favourite Wolves moments at Ashton Gate.

The defender recalls the last FA Cup meeting of the teams back in the fifth round in 2019 as his assist to Ivan Cavaleiro secured a place in the quarter-finals and a run which ultimately ended at Wembley.

Doc also remembers the Championship battle against the Robins just over a year before that cup tie as Wolves fought from behind with 10-men to claim a vital three points on their way to Premier League promotion.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
