Wolves Express | Winning in the FA Cup and previewing Newcastle

The latest two episodes of Wolves Express are out now as Monday's podcast looks back at Saturday's win over Bristol City in the FA Cup, while Wednesday's show previews this evening's visit to the north east.

Monday's episode was all about the Old Gold getting their name in the hat for the fourth round, with a tie away to Blackburn Rovers awaiting Vitor Pereira's side in February, and the head coach features on the podcast as he gives his thoughts on the third round win over the Robins.

The Portugese shares his take on Wolves' positive defending - which was boosted by Emmanuel Agbadou, who made his debut at the weekend, and Pereira discusses the impact he felt the Ivorian had on the game, as well as why there are still improvements to be made, despite the victory.

Agbadou himself also joins the podcast to discuss making his bow in gold and black at Ashton Gate on Saturday lunchtime, while listeners can also hear from match-winner Rodrigo Gomes who chats about scoring his second goal for the team, as well as the partnership he's formed with Goncalo Guedes down Wolves' right side.

Wednesday's episode of Wolves Express looks ahead to this evening's trip to Newcastle United as Wolves turn their attention back to Premier League action, and Pereira kicks off the podcast by offering up an injury update, after several defenders have been missing the last few weeks.

The head coach also talks about Matheus Cunha's return to the squad following the end of his two-match suspension and what Wolves will need to do if they are to stop the threat of the Magpies and their striker Alexander Isak.

There are also interviews with Jose Sa and Matt Doherty as the pair share their thoughts on their previous visits to St James' Park and how difficult a game it has proved in the past for the team.

While Doherty also recalls some of the more positive moments against Newcastle - including his late match winning goal which secured three points on the road back in December 2018.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
