Wolves have continued their partnership with the University of Wolverhampton into another season.
This extension builds upon a decade-long relationship between the club and university and will see the renewed partnership run through to the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
The partnership will allow both the club and university to continue creating enriching opportunities for students and foster a mutually beneficial relationship between education, football and the city.
For over a decade, this partnership has provided a broad range of opportunities for students in Wolverhampton. From work placements within the club to meeting with members of the first-team staff and playing squad, the partnership has provided invaluable experiences for hundreds of young people studying at the university.
As part of the partnership, the University will continue their support of Wolves Women, including prominent branding across the team’s training kit and home ground, the SEAH Stadium – formerly New Bucks Head. Old Gold supporters attending Molineux will also continue to see University branding throughout the stadium on both matchday’s and non-matchdays.
In addition to the good work that both parties collaborate on across Wolverhampton, the renewed partnership will also support the university in its continued international growth and support in driving awareness amongst international students.
Russell Jones, Wolves general manager for marketing and commercial growth, said: “I am extremely pleased to see this extension finalised. As two core pillars within the city, the partnership has seen many students go on to have great success on the back of experiences delivered as part of this partnership.
“The success of this relationship is a testament to the power of collaboration, where education and sport are able to inspire and strengthen community ties. We look forward to seeing this continue to develop over the coming years.”
Reflecting on the partnership extension, Russel Smith, football coaching lecturer at the University said: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with Wolves and are also incredibly proud to be the training kit sponsor for the Women’s team, showcasing our continued support for the future of women’s football.
“Our partnership continues to go from strength to strength providing unique opportunities for all our students. Both the club and the University have significant international ambitions, and this partnership is helping put Wolverhampton on the world map.”
