Matchday guide | Ipswich vs Wolves

Wolves are heading east on Saturday as Vitor Pereira's side hit the road for the crunch Premier League battle against Ipswich Town.

A sold-out allocation of just under 3,000 supporters will be heading to Portman Road for the 3pm kick-off.

Travel Information

Trains | For those travelling by train, Ipswich station is only a five to 10 minutes’ walk from the ground. From Wolverhampton it is possible to travel cross-country and via London. Due to the engineering work on the London to Ipswich line, the recommended route would be Crosscountry via Birmingham New Street. The quickest route, around four hours 42 minutes is via Ely.

Note there is a longer route, around five hours 15 minutes via Cambridge so do check before booking.

Travelling by car and parking | The post code for the stadium is IP1 2DA and can be reached from Wolverhampton by using the M6 and A14.

There is no official stadium car park, but there is parking all around the ground. The closest is a large car park on Portman Road, right by the away end (post code IP1 2BP).

Travelling by official coach | Away coaches will park in the West End Road car park (post code IP1 2DZ), a five to 10 minutes’ walk from the ground.

It may be possible to arrange a drop-off nearer to the stadium for fans with mobility issues – please contact Ipswich Town's disability liaison officer, Lee Smith, on 01473 400556 in advance of the game to arrange this.

Kits

Ipswich will be wearing their blue home shirt and white shorts, with the goalkeeper wearing the white goalkeeper shirt and white shorts.

Wolves will be wearing the gold and black home shirt and gold shorts, with the goalkeeper wearing the pink goalkeeper shirt and pink shorts.

Turnstile Information and Opening Times

The entrances to the away end blocks VU1, VU2, VU3, VL and VA of the Cobbold Stand are situated on Portman Road next to the away ticket collection windows.

The turnstiles and accessibility entrance will open approximately 90 minutes prior to kick-off.

Visiting supporters will be in Cobbold Stand.  

Flags and Banner Information 

Subject to space, flags and banners are allowed in the away end. These will require a safety fire certificate and should be fire retardant.

Security Information

Turnstiles will open around 90 minutes prior to kick off, at around 1.30pm.

All fans will go through security checks and bag searches.

Bag Policy

The maximum bag size is A4 (12” x 8” x 3” or 300mm x 200mm x 100mm). Exceptions can apply, such as to bags containing medical equipment, medication and babychange items.

Water bottles, no bigger than 500ml are allowed into the stadium. There are no facilities to leave bags.

Away Pub

The only pub that officially welcomes away fans is the Station Hotel. Many pubs and bars in the town centre are strictly home fans only (more info below), especially those nearer the ground or with a big home following.

The Station Hotel can be found opposite the station, and is the official away pub. It has a garden and TV screens, with beers mostly from the Greene King stable.

Accessible Information

Accessible toilets are on the concourse of the lower tier of the Cobbold Stand. A baby changing facility can be found in the ladies’ toilets in the lower tier.
