Wednesday's episode of Wolves Express is now live and features an exclusive interview with 100-year-old supporter Sydney Ball after his birthday visit to Portman Road on Saturday.
Ipswich native Sydney has supported the Old Gold for more than 60 years and was treated to a belated birthday present from Wolves and its Wolves Wishes initiative on Saturday as he watched his beloved team at his local ground.
He speaks exclusively to Wolves Express about the day, which included meeting club vice-president and legendary musician Robert Plant, getting one over on his Ipswich supporting friends, while we also hear about how Wolves were able to bring all of this together for Sydney's special 100th birthday surprise.
Gemma Chenery, landlady of the Brantham Bull pub near Ipswich, where Sydney attends a Wednesday morning meet up group, discusses why she contacted Wolves ahead of his milestone birthday and how she's been blown away by what the club have been able to provide her friend - which will also see the pair attend Wolves' Premier League match at Molineux this weekend.
Wednesday's episode of the club's official quickfire podcast also hears from head chef Melissa Forde, who has been featured on the latest Football Black List, which highlights the most influential Black people in British football.
Forde, who is of Jamaican heritage, leads the catering team working with Vitor Pereira’s squad at Compton Park each day as well as on the road all over the country, and she explains just how much of an honour it is to be named on the latest list alongside the likes of former Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, Raheem Sterling, Tyrone Mings and Ashley Cole.
She also chats about inspiring other people of Black heritage, being involved in football outside of being a coach or a player, and the prospect of joining the rest of the Football Black List in an evening of celebration at the Emirates Stadium for the most influential Black people in British football.
Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
