Molineux event to celebrate Black History Month

A special event exploring the impact and influence of black culture across Wolves and the City of Wolverhampton will take place at Molineux marking the beginning of Black History Month 2024.

The event, set to take place on Friday 18th October, will include speakers from on and off the field, with an exclusive preview of the Wolves Black History Month series, followed by refreshments, authentic food and networking opportunities.

This year’s theme for Black History Month is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’, and is an invitation for all to take part in storytelling, celebrating identity, heritage and community, and connecting with one another.

Molineux will host a range of contributors and attendees from across football, sports and the entertainment industry with ‘reclaiming our narratives’ set to feature more broadly across Wolves media channels over the 2024/25 season, and as part of the club’s annual One Pack Week.

The event, hosted by the club, is open to all Wolves staff, players, supporters, friends and professionals, including families and young people– and you can come for as little or as long as you like!

Wolves' equality, diversity and inclusion manager, Gurpri Bains, said: “Following positive feedback for our previous One Pack events - Iftar Feast With The Pack, Pride in the Pack, and Stories To Tell, which celebrated South Asian Heritage Month - we are very excited to bring to the city our latest One Pack evening event.

“These events have been about bringing together people in celebration and reflection, and have proven enjoyable, enlightening and experiential, and a fantastic way of learning more about ourselves and others.

“We are thrilled to once again be able to host our friends, supporters and community at Molineux, to learn more about Black History Month and bring to life ‘reclaiming narratives’.”
