Wolves Esports to compete in front of 40,000 sell-out crowd

Wolves Esports have qualified for the Honor of Kings KPL (King Pro League) grand final, which will take place in a sold out 40,000-seater stadium in China.

The Beijing Workers’ Stadium will see either Wolves Esports or AG Super Play be crowned champions and walk away with more than $3m.

The path has not been straight forward for the highly regarded Wolves team, as they had to reverse sweep KuaiShow Gaming, coming from 0-3 down to winning 4-3 and booking their spot in the grand final.

The Wolves Honor of Kings team are no strangers to the spotlight, having claimed numerous championship and cup titles over the years and one player, Pang, was part of the KPL Dream Team which won the recent Esports World Cup.

This grand final will be a best of nine matches, meaning the first team to win five will be crowned the victors and walk away as champions and $3m richer.

The game will start at 10:15 GMT on Saturday 16th November and can be watched live on the Wolves app as well as the official Honor of Kings Esports YouTube channel.

Comparisons:

To put this number in perspective, the recent League of Legends Worlds 2024 (arguably the biggest event in the esports calendar) took place in London’s O2 Arena in front of 14,700 people.

Molineux, home of Wolves, has a capacity of just over 32,000.

About Honor of Kings:

Honor of Kings is a mobile MOBA (multiplayer online battle area) and proudly declares itself the most played mobile MOBA in the world. It pits two teams of five against each other in a series of matches to determine the winner.

Until recently this title has only been available to play in China, however earlier this year the game saw its global release.
