The former striker, who is a proud member of the Premier League ‘100 club’, heaped praise on the Mexican after watching him bag his 20th goal of the season against Liverpool recently. Crouch joined former Wolves midfielder Paul Ince on the BT Sport team covering the clash with the Reds at Molineux, and both spoke highly of Wolves’ centre forward and the club’s progress as a whole.
Crouch on Jimenez’s qualities
“He’s an all-round centre forward. He’s got everything. He’s scoring goals, he’s making goals, his link-up play is good and he’s good in the air.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t been linked with some big, big moves because he’s been doing it for a couple of years now. He’s integral to this Wolves team and what they’re doing.”
Ince on the Mexican
“He’s not just one who likes to stay down the centre. He’s got all the attributes you want to be a world class striker. He’s a joy to watch.”
Crouch on Wolves balancing Europe
“I’ve played in teams that have struggled from being in Europe, with Stoke in Europe it was a real struggle. Some teams change whole elevens for the weekend games, but Nuno hasn’t done that, he’s stuck with a similar group and it’s paid dividends.
“I thought they would struggle at the start of the season, and they did struggle for a little bit, but they’ve bounced back and have been so strong.”
Ince on Wolves’ plan
“It’s their second year now, coming from the Championship. They didn’t spend a lot and change the whole squad, like Fulham did and went straight back down, they’ve got a close-knit family, 19, 20 players have played this year. They’ve got better and better.”
