Defender Maximilian Kilman discusses life Away From the Action at Molineux and Compton Park, exploring how he keeps relaxed and some of his favourite activities.
What do you like to do away from football?
I like spending a lot of time with my family and all the close people in my life. I’m quite a private person and I like to keep myself to my small circle. I enjoy going for a nice meal and nothing too strenuous and I try to get down to see my family in London when I can.
Do you watch football outside of Wolves?
I watch the Premier League a lot, so if we’re playing on a Saturday and there’s a big game on Super Sunday the next day, then I like to watch it. I’m not like some guys here who watch football all day, every day, I watch the big Premier League games or the big Champions League nights.
Are there any other sports you like to play?
I play tennis a lot, but I usually do that during the off-season. I wasn’t able to do that this summer as I was out injured, but the season before I spent a lot of the summer playing tennis as it’s something I really like. During the season, it’s a bit tough to play tennis as it’s quite a strenuous sport and I don’t want to tire myself out.
Is there one sport or activity you wish you could try?
There’s nothing too crazy that I would like to do, no skydiving or bungee jumping or anything like that, but one of the sports I would like to get better at is basketball. I enjoy playing that with some of the guys, so if I could get better at scoring and getting it in the net more, that would be something I would like to do.
Are you quite active during your downtime?
I wouldn’t say I’m active, but I wouldn’t mind going out for a nice walk or going to get a coffee or getting some lunch somewhere nice.
Where do you like to visit during time off?
I would always go down to London because that’s where all my family live and all the people who are close to me.
Which teammates would be the best and worst to spend downtime with?
To be fair, I get along with everybody really well and if I had to spend time with any of them for a prolonged period of time I would be happy with any of my teammates as we all get along really well.

Do you spend time with your teammates away from Compton?
If we’ve got an afternoon session during the week or if we’re going to be training more and going to be away from home, like the training camp we had this summer, we go out together as a group. We maybe go for a nice dinner and spend some time together.
Is there a specific restaurant or café that you like to visit?
The main one in Wolverhampton that we like to eat out at as a group is Fiume as the boys really like going there because it’s quite a nice restaurant. But the day before a game if I go to get a coffee anywhere local there are plenty of nice places to choose from.
How much have you explored Wolverhampton?
Tettenhall is quite a nice area so I like to go for a nice walk or just chill out, especially when the weather is good. So I like to go out there as it’s chilled and very quiet.
