Dissecting some of most important Wolves goals under the ownership of Fosun which, although they’re not known as Goal of the Season contenders, were hugely significant in the club’s recent history.
Manchester City 0-2 Wolves | 6th October 2019
Adama Traore’s finest afternoon in a Wolves shirt came in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium.
At his flying best, the Spaniard cooly finished off two stunning Old Gold counter attacks, with the assistance of Raul Jimenez, to stun the champions on home soil.
The second put the sealer on it in injury time, with Traore running in on Ederson and slotting home the crucial decider.
“It felt amazing. Raul gave me two amazing assists and I’m so happy to help the team win and keep pushing. I know my speed and my dribbling, but after in the end I have to have the end product and I have to keep working on that. All the team worked so hard and I’m happy to keep winning.” Adama Traore
“We played good, the performance was good but defensively was very good and very organised. The boys worked hard until the end. The fans enjoyed it. Adama Traore is improving. He is special because he is very fast, he is unique in that and we searched for a moment of talent. It has been a long season already, too many games, but we always compete. I cannot say any game they have not done that.” Nuno Espirito Santo
The lasting impression
Wolves would go on to complete the Premier League double over Manchester City, also winning at Molineux the following December.
Nuno’s side finished a mammoth season in seventh, having fought until the last eight of the Europa League. City won the Carabao Cup but finished second to Liverpool in the Premier League.
