The first midweek set of Premier League fixtures is upon us, meaning there’s a short turnaround for Fantasy Premier League managers, who might be considering the following four options.
The in-form option
Jorgen Strand Larsen | Round points: 11 | Cost: £5.6m | Total points: 61
Despite the defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, Jorgen Strand Larsen claimed his first double figure haul on Fantasy Premier League. The Norwegian scored his first brace for Wolves, which helped him bring in 11 points for his FPL managers. It was back-to-back returns for the attacker too, who claimed an assist in the win at Fulham the previous week. He’s an affordable £5.6m.
The Everton link
Craig Dawson | Total points: 18 | Cost: £4.4m
Craig Dawson’s last Wolves goal came against Everton almost a year ago. The defender is back fit and will hope to earn a start at Goodison Park. Rayan Ait-Nouri is the only Wolves defender to score this term, so Dawson will want to change that. He also kept a clean sheet in that goal scoring victory over Everton last December. Will FPL managers scoop the bargain defender?
The Toffees FPL scorer
Dwight McNeil | Total points: 56 | Cost: £5.6m
Wide man Dwight McNeil has been Everton’s most effective player on FPL this season. McNeil registered two double figure hauls in the opening six weeks of the season, however he’s now gone four matches without an attacking return. His last contribution came in the form of an assist at Ipswich Town in gameweek eight. Will managers move for the winger?
The Challenge option
Marcus Rashford | Total points: 52 | Cost: 6.9m
This week’s FPL Challenge theme is ‘Red Hot Deals’ which means Manchester United players earn managers double points. United are at Arsenal, but travel on the back of a comfortable 4-0 win over Everton at the weekend. Marcus Rashford was their top point earner with 14 against the Toffees, having scored twice in the win, so is a likely Challenge option this week.
