FPL tips | Doherty rolling back the FPL years

Wolves are preparing to face Ipswich Town on Saturday and before the 3pm kick-off Fantasy Premier League managers will be assembling their squads, with the below four players being viable options.

The in-form option

Rayan Ait-Nouri | Round points: 4 | Price: £4.9m | Total points: 42

Rayan Ait-Nouri was back in the attacking returns on Monday night, with his cross being turned in by Matt Doherty at the London Stadium. The Algerian now has three goals and three assists for the season and has been deployed in a wing-back role for the majority of the season, given plenty of attacking licence. Ait-Nouri costs below £5m, so is still a viable option.

The Ipswich link

Matt Doherty | Cost: £4.3m | Total points: 10

Matt Doherty was the match winner the last time Wolves faced Ipswich Town in a league game back in January 2018. That afternoon he headed home a Championship winner and, now in his second spell at the club, he’s back in the team. On Monday evening he scored his first goal of the season, taking his season tally from four points to ten in one day, and will hope to retain his shirt on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys threat

Liam Delap | Cost: £5.6m | Total points: 58

Ipswich’s big point earner this season has been Liam Delap. The Manchester City academy graduate already has six goals in what is his first season playing regularly in the Premier League. He’s without a goal in his last four games but is two points away from the 60-point mark in Ipswich blue.

The Challenge option

Danny Welbeck | Cost: £5.8m | Total points: 69

This week’s Challenge players are on the look out for bargain players. Players costing less than £6m will earn double points for this weekend only. Danny Welbeck is just behind Alex Iwobi, who faces Liverpool, as the top sub-£6m asset on this season’s FPL. He costs £5.8m and faces Crystal Palace at home at the weekend.
