With Christmas approaching, Fantasy Premier League managers will be assembling their teams early before the Boxing Day fixtures, and wolves.co.uk presents four players which may be considered.
The in-form option
Goncalo Guedes | Round points: 13 | Price: £5.3m | Total points: 39
Nobody benefitted from the new Vitor Pereira era as much as Goncalo Guedes, who hit double figures on FPL for his efforts at Leicester City on Sunday. His goal and assist brought in 13 points for his managers. It did represent back-to-back returns after an assist against Ipswich Town too. He’ll hope to retain his starting spot against Manchester United and costs just £5.3m.

The Man United link
Nelson Semedo | Cost: £4.5m | Total points: 29
Nelson Semedo’s first ever Wolves goal came at home to Manchester United back in 2021. The Portuguese provided an attacking return on Sunday too, providing the assist for Guedes’ opener – his third of the season, following contributions against Brentford and Manchester City too. Semedo was deployed at wing-back against the Foxes, which gave him plenty of attacking licence. Now, he’ll hope for a repeat of 2021 and a first goal of the season.
The Red Devils threat
Bruno Fernandes | Cost: £8.4m | Total points: 83
Man United’s biggest FPL point earner this season has been Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese has four goals and six assists so far this term and is likely to captain his side at Molineux. Before their reverse to Bournemouth at the weekend, Fernandes had scored in consecutive games and is the man over penalties for the Red Devils.
The Challenge option
Kevin De Bruyne | Cost: £9.5m | Total points: 42
This week’s FPL Challenge players will be rewarded with an extra seven points if one of their players scores from outside of the box. Manchester City have the most goals from distance this season with seven. One man usually threatening from outside of the box is Kevin De Bruyne, and having sat out of their weekend game, he’ll be eyeing minutes at home to Everton. As a one off, and with price not considered, is he worth a gamble?
