Portman Road is the next stop for Vitor Pereira's Wolves, who are looking to pull further clear of the drop zone against Ipswich Town, and wolves.co.uk has all the talking points pre-match.
1 | Roll Call
Pereira has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Ipswich, with Rodrigo Gomes and Goncalo Guedes back in contention having sat out of Tuesday’s win over West Ham United due to injury. Matheus Cunha concludes his four-match ban, so will not travel, but will be back available for Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend. Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez and Sasa Kalajdzic are long-term absentees.
Kieran McKenna says his group picked no new injuries at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday and he’ll make “late calls” on Leif Davis and Omari Hutchinson, who both missed the trip due to injury. The Tractor Boys are already without goalkeeper Arijanet Muric due to a shoulder problem and Sam Szmodics, who has a foot injury. Wes Burns and Chiedozie Ogbene are out for the remainder of the campaign.

3 | Journey to Saturday
Wolves head to Portman Road in a positive vein of form, having won back-to-back Premier League matches either side of the international break. Tuesday night’s victory over West Ham, courtesy of a strike from the in-form Jorgen Strand Larsen, moved the Old Gold 12 points clear of the drop zone momentarily, before Ipswich’s win the following day. It was another big step for Pereira's side however, after the Norwegian also struck twice in a 2-1 win at Southampton before the break. Those victories followed a draw with Everton, making in three unbeaten for the Old Gold, who are nine ahead of Ipswich and 12 better off than Leicester City now.
Ipswich recorded their first Premier League win of 2025 on Wednesday night, as Nathan Broadhead and Liam Delap netted to overcome Bournemouth. Prior to the Cherries trip, McKenna’s side had taken two points from the previous 30 available. At Portman Road, the Tractor Boys have lost their last five, conceding 18 goals during that period, with their most recent reverse against Nottingham Forest prior to the break. Town won at Molineux back in December, and beat Chelsea on 30th December in their last home win. Three points over the Cherries in the week reduced the gap between Ipswich and Wolves, however.

4 | Three points at Portman
Wolves’ last match winner at Portman Road is likely to be featuring for the Old Gold again tomorrow. Back in January 2018 Matt Doherty was a flying wing-back and he headed Barry Douglas’ cross into the ground and the Ipswich top corner to earn Nuno Espirito Santo’s promotion-chasing side three valuable points. Wolves were top of the Championship at the time and never relinquished that position for the remainder of the season. That was the club’s last league trip to Portman Road, with the Old Gold losing out in the Carabao Cup there last season.
