Peterborough United 0
Wolves 1 (Samuels 70)
A physical friendly between Peterborough and Wolves at London Road was decided with a goal from 16-year-old substitute Austin Samuels who was making his debut at senior level.
After a quiet start to proceedings, John Ruddy first punched away and then caught a pair of free-kicks that Marcus Maddison fired into the box whilst the first threat from Wanderers came in the shape of a 30-yard drive from Connor Ronan that was taken by Posh keeper Jonathan Bond.
Although the pace of the game was brisk, there was little action in either penalty area although Ronan’s inswinging corner had to be headed clear from a congested six-yard box.
Ivan Cavaleiro ran in from the left and despite looking to be fouled by his marker, he still managed to get a shot away from just outside the box that was a couple of feet too high.
Shortly before the break a terrible challenge by Gwian Edwards on Matt Doherty, to the right of the home area, left the defender in a heap on the floor and sparked a brief spell of pushing and shoving between players.
Edwards was lucky to escape with a rebuke from the referee for a tackle that would have brought at least a yellow card in a League game. Thankfully, after lengthy treatment, Doherty was able to complete the half.

There were 21 changes for the start of the new half. Peterborough changed their entire team whilst only Joe Mason remained on for Wanderers.
A Barry Douglas corner flashed dangerously though the goalmouth with no-one able to get a touch, and then Mason chased down a long through ball but was forced wide and his angled shot was blocked.
Mason was replaced in the 62nd minute by Academy graduate Samuels, and it took the youngster just eight minutes to make his mark.
Wolves broke from a Posh corner and Jordan Graham fired in a tremendous cross that was converted by Samuels in a manner that belied his tender age.
He almost grabbed a second after new signing Diogo Jota had set up the chance but he screwed his low shot narrowly wide.
Peterborough tried hard to conjure up an equaliser in the closing minutes but Burgoyne wasn’t severely troubled.
