The move concludes Costa’s three-year spell at Molineux, where he became a popular figure and made more than 100 appearances in gold and black.
Originally a loanee, Wolves broke their transfer record on the Portuguese and were rewarded with some dazzling performances as the wide man helped the club into the Premier League.
After moving to Molineux from Benfica in 2016, Costa hit the ground running with a brilliant strike at Newcastle United and a match-winning performance at Anfield in the FA Cup.
By January 2017, the move had become permanent and Costa spearheaded the club to a mid-table finish under Paul Lambert, before sweeping the board at the club’s End of Season Awards dinner.
Then under Nuno Espirito Santo’s guidance, and after recovering from injury, Costa played his part in Wolves’ title-winning Championship campaign of 2017/18.
Big goals against Preston North End and Middlesbrough saw Costa contribute significantly, providing the 25-year-old with a first taste of the Premier League.
Costa was a regular during the first-half of the campaign, but his goal in the memorable victory at Tottenham Hotspur was the Portuguese’s only strike in the Premier League last season.
He now joins Leeds United, who were recently beaten Championship Play-Off semi-finalists, and will become a permanent player at the Yorkshire club in July 2020.
