The 22-year-old joined Wolves from Estoril in the summer of 2020, before immediately joining Grasshoppers on loan, and he helped his loan club to the Swiss Challenge League title and promotion to the top tier in his debut campaign.
A level higher, Gomes returned to the club for the first half of this season and has been a regular once more, missing just two games and scoring a header in a 3-1 victory over Lausanne-Sport back in August.
However, with the Swiss Super League now taking a winter break, and Gomes having spent his whole Wolves career to date out on loan, the defender has now returned to Molineux to work with Bruno Lage’s first-team.
Wolves technical director Scott Sellars said: “This is a good opportunity to bring a young player, who has been doing well out in Switzerland, back so we can have a look at him. Toti will train with the first-team, which we hope will really benefit him.
“Although he’s a Wolves player, he’s always been out on loan, so it’s an opportunity for him to come into the pack, have a look at the club, meet everybody, and see what it’s all about. The Swiss league doesn’t restart until the end of January, so this is a good opportunity for Toti and Wolves.
“Barring any new Covid-19 or injury issues here, we expect him to return to Switzerland at the end of January.”
