Pupils who have still been attending the Foundation’s partner schools during the lockdown and young people who attend the charity’s Inclusion & Cohesion programmes will be among the first to receive the packs, which contain a great mix of activities and giveaways to provide hours of entertainment during these challenging times.
Some of the giveaways have been very kindly donated by Young Wolves, whilst the packs include a 45-page booklet which includes Coady’s message and has been printed free of charge by Wolves’ partners DIS Group, a Wolverhampton-based digital graphics specialists.
“With the Foundation having had to stop our face-to-face delivery of sessions since the arrival of Covid-19, all of our staff have adapted and looked at different ways to support those young people who would normally access our activities,” says Laura Nicholls, senior manager with the Wolves Foundation.
“This has been achieved in many ways, including moving a lot of our programmes online, setting up WhatsApp groups for people who would normally be attending an activity, running regular FIFA competitions for Kicks participants, sending our regular newsletters and supporting the club-wide initiatives to contact our supporters and provide backing to the NHS.
“We know that young people might be finding this a particularly challenging time, whether they are children of key workers and are therefore still attending school, or are being home-schooled and haven’t been able to enjoy their normal day-to-day activities and getting out and seeing friends.
“As a result, the Foundation have put together these activity and resource packs which we are now distributing and include the activity book printed by the official club partners, DIS, which will hopefully prove popular and keep people occupied – and feel more connected to Wolves – during their time away from us.
“We are also hugely appreciative to DIS Graphics for their fantastic support, Synaxis for producing the activity book, Young Wolves for some great merchandise giveaways and Wolves programme artist Louise Cobbold, who has created a Foundation/NHS rainbow design which people can perhaps colour in and then put in their windows to show their support.”
The giveaways from Young Wolves include a sandwich bag and water bottle, and the packs also feature the 2019/20 Panini sticker album and a selection of Wolves stickers.
