Molineux visit for cyclist Miller

Molineux opened its doors to Cycling Guinness World Record holder Gordon Miller on Sunday, as he tours all 20 Premier League stadiums for a worthy cause.

During Euro 2020, Miller is visiting each top flight stadium, shining a light on modern slavery and child trafficking and fundraising to deliver the Freewheel by Ride For Freedom programme that enables survivors of modern slavery to cycle.

More than 40 million women, children and men worldwide are victims of slavery each day, according to Global Slavery Index, while within Europe’s football industry, there are estimated to be 15,000 human trafficking victims each year.

So, Miller is doing his bit to bring these statistics to light by starting at Wembley and cycling to all 20 Premier League stadiums this summer – the latest of a series of rides for good causes, with more information available at rideforfreedom.org.uk.

The event has been organised, developed and delivered in partnership with the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy (CISD) SOAS University of London and Ardea International.

For the West Midlands leg, which included trips to Villa Park and the Hawthorns, Miller was accompanied by Marc Pearson.

On their stop at Molineux, Miller and Pearson met with Wolves’ head of safeguarding Lisa Carter, human resources director Zoe Brough and Foundation senior manager Lee Smith, who presented the duo with a Wolves shirt.

It’s an issue Wolves have firm stance on, which can be found here.
