Wolves captains Mario Lemina and Anna Morphet have joined the team of ambassadors of Wolves Foundation, the club’s official charity.
Lemina, the men’s club captain, and Morphet, skipper of Wolves Women, were both announced as new ambassadors at the Foundation’s Gala Dinner, adding their support to raise awareness and help promote the work of the Foundation.
Lemina has already visited several projects delivered by the Foundation including Molineux Memories and Healthy Goals, and Morphet recently helped showcase the Premier League’s ‘Super Movers for Everybody’ event hosted by the Foundation at the Compton Park training ground.
“As a proud captain of Wolves, the responsibility that we have to our supporters in the community is one that I will always relish,” says Lemina.
“I have only positive experiences from visiting several different projects run by the Foundation, and I am really happy to have become an ambassador.
“The charity does a really good job and I am looking forward to learning more about them and seeing more of their activities.”
Morphet adds: “Being able to see at first hand the impact of the Super Movers project, and the response from the children and smiles on their faces, just reinforced to me how important Wolves Foundation is to the people of Wolverhampton.
“For all of us in the Wolves Women team, the growth of the game in recent years has seen us learning more about becoming role models and appreciating what that means for the young girls who come and watch us play.
“I am really excited to see all that continue to grow and am honoured to become an ambassador for Wolves Foundation.”
Lemina and Morphet now join the team of Wolves foundation ambassadors already comprising former Wolves captains Karl Henry and Anna Price, broadcasters Johnny Phillips, Mark Rhodes, Johnny Phillips, Suzi Perry and Amber Sandhu, home chef influencer Mitch Lane and musicians S-X and Reepa.
Rock legend and club vice-president Robert Plant is a patron of the Foundation.
“We are delighted that Mario and Anna are to become ambassadors of Wolves Foundation,” said head of Wolves Foundation, Will Clowes.
“As the club’s official charity, the support we receive from players, management and coaching staff is so important to helping us to both raise awareness of our projects and inspire our participants, and Mario and Anna have already made substantial contributions in these areas by attending various events.
“To have the club captains from the men’s and women’s squads on board is fantastic for all connected with the Foundation, and we really appreciate their support.”
