Defender Bendeguz Bolla has joined Swiss Super League Servette on a season-long loan, with the option of a permanent move.
The Hungarian joined the club two years ago and has spent both the 2021/22 and 2022/23 season also on loan in Switzerland with Grasshopper Club Zurich.
The 23-year-old has played regularly over that period, turning out 66 times and scoring six goals, while developing a reputation for providing assists for his teammates.
The full-back, who travelled with the Hungary squad to Euro 2020 and has 11 senior caps to his name, now returns to Switzerland with Servette, who were the Super League runners-up last term.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “When it was decided Bendeguz wasn’t going to be part of the first-team squad here, it was important to get him out playing, for him and for us, so he can show what he can do and build value.
“He’s a full international so is an asset to the football club, and we need to maximise that asset by getting him out and playing as much football as possible.
“There were several interested parties, but it’s a league he knows well and is comfortable in, so now he can go and play football and we’ll see what happens next summer.”
