Wolves remain at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table after Sheffield United lost at home to Fulham last night, but are just a point ahead of Cardiff, who won at Barnsley.
Leeds will arrive at Molineux buoyed by a vital win over Middlesbrough at the weekend, and themselves with promotion hopes and the carrot of a victory potentially taking them into the play-off places.
Wolves have won their last three fixtures 2-0, and Nuno believes the game management side of his squad is improving, but nowhere near perfect.
“We analyse the opposition but we cannot think about that too much,” he said.
“We will try to predict the line up but then it is about us having the right solutions on the pitch.
“We look at that in training and the players must feel the things we want to achieve when any problems come along.
“We have to try and neutralise their strengths but I know what we want to do as a team – to grow and build and find those solutions to win the games.
“It is easy to speak, more difficult to do it.
“It is like having a bag of tools and knowing which tool to use in a particular moment…decision-making.
“It is about the how the when and the where, and being versatile enough to break our opponents.
“Our game management has improved but it is not perfect and we have to keep working at it.
“Managing the game depends on multiple things and the result is the most important.
“Each one of the players can change the dynamic of the team so there are many things to look at when you are managing a game.
“You can manage a game with your defensive shape, if you know where you want to defend and where you want to recover the ball.
“But for us we want to manage the game with our offensive part of the game – always threatening and having control of the ball.
“We are on the way to doing it but there is a very long way to go.”
Nuno, who has Barry Douglas available again after suspension, expects the usual tough test from Leeds, who have won on their last two visits to Molineux.
“We watch every opposition and analyse them deeply,” said the Head Coach.
“Leeds are a good team with good players who started very well this season.
“And their last game was a very good one for them.
“They are a very dangerous team with quality players up front and a good idea on football.
“We know what we will find and will prepare ourselves with the focus always on us and how we want to perform.”
And although Wolves have taken 19 points from eight home league games to date, Nuno is still demanding more from his table-toppers.
‘Things have been looking good but it doesn’t mean anything yet,” he says.
“We don’t look at the table.
“What we did before has gone – we look at the future and prepare ourselves.
“And we have to improve at Molineux.
“In terms of performances we have been doing quite well away.
“There were a couple of games at Molineux where we could have done better.
“It is up to us, we are at home, in a full stadium.
“We have all the motivation in the world and we are ready to go.
“Playing at Molineux we just have to think about our pack, how we want to do it, and go for it.”
