It was a hard-fought game, and Wolves created a number of good chances, but the away side were unable to capitalise and were forced to settle for a point at Oakwell.
Speaking after the fixture, the Head Coach said: “It was a tough game but I felt we were totally in control and better than them.
“They are a tough team, well organised. We saw that in the first game we played at Molineux.
“We were in total control, we had chances and we worked very, very hard so we have to be proud of ourselves.
“When you concede no chances to Barnsley here, when you have disallowed goals, you have shots that hit the post, you have clear chances and you dominate your opponent, you have to say well done boys.
“Creating all these things and knowing that what we missed was as chance to get all three points, this shows the work that the boys are putting in.
“We’re going to get there and we have to focus on our next game against Swansea in the cup and then look towards getting the three points against Nottingham Forest.”
Nuno believes the disappointment at being unable to take three points shows how far the team has come.
He said: “Disappointment is the first sign of a team that wants to grow.
“When you know that you are the better team on the pitch and you don’t win, that tells you that you know you are growing.
“Winning is a tough, tough thing to achieve. Every game is very hard so that makes you know that football will give you things as long as you work hard.
“Growing is that. Being disappointed that you haven’t got three points and celebrating with the fans as we wanted to.
“Showing the same attitude, the same control, the same hunger as we did today will get us more points.
“Sometimes you don’t win but this hunger of growing game-by-game and wanting to win, this is what makes me proud.”
Wolves were backed by 4,700 travelling fans at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon and the Head Coach explained how much their support means to the staff and the players.
“It’s fantastic,” he said before adding: “The boys appreciate it, they mentioned it after the game. We feel like we are at home.
“We are thankful for the long journey they made to come and support us.
“Let’s give them the joy. The team and the supporters are together. One behind each other.
“Well done to them. We thank them for coming and we want them to be with us at every game because we need their support.
“When a team has this kind of support behind them, the last ten minutes of the game it was the fans who were pushing the team.
“The boys were pushed by the sounds of our fans so we have to be proud of ourselves so thank you to them.”
