Match Preview | Wolves vs Sheff Utd

After getting back to winning ways last weekend, a home victory is next on the agenda for Wolves, who welcome Sheffield United for the Championship evening kick-off on Saturday.

Matt Doherty’s winner at Ipswich Town gave Wolves the points last weekend and the gap at the top now stands at 10 points going into the weekend. The last home victory at Molineux came on the 2nd January, so Nuno Espirito Santo will hope back-to-back victories will be achieved. Wolves are the division’s second highest scorers at home and have accumulated the most points, so will hope the arrival of Benik Afobe will further increase their impressive home record.

The Opposition

Amongst the early-season promotion chasers, Sheffield United remain in contention heading into February. The Blades are sat two points adrift of the Play-Offs in seventh but have been in an inconsistent run of form in recent weeks. On Tuesday United conceded late on their way to defeat against Aston Villa, which meant they’ve won just one of their previous five in the Championship, although they progressed to the FA Cup Fifth Round during January.

Around The Championship

Bristol City travel to Bolton Wanderers on Friday, while Aston Villa host Brentford on Saturday. Derby County take on Brentford and Fulham face Nottingham Forest. Cardiff City are at Elland Road to play Leeds United and Middlesbrough meet Norwich City.
