Team Spirit Is Vital

Team spirit in the Wolves camp is sky high after back-to-back victories were secured in recent weeks, according to Head Coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having recently overseen a week’s training camp in Marbella and guided his team to six points from six, Nuno discussed his side’s camaraderie ahead of Saturday’s QPR clash.

“This has been built through time,” he said. “Since the beginning, the players coming in and the players already here mix well, they understand well.

“It’s based on one simple thing, we’re working together as a group. The week we went away was very important because they spent a lot of time together and the spirit got stronger.

“They are friends as well as team mates. The credit goes to the players, it’s about cooperating, so let’s keep it this way and make it even stronger.”

Ian Holloway’s QPR are the opponents this weekend, but Nuno isn’t looking back on October’s defeat to the Londoners when preparing for the weekend.

“Revenge can cloud your view and distract you. You only have to focus on the game, your opponent and the task you have to do.

“They’re a tough team. I think we’re going to find an organised team, a team that is aggressive and physical. We know what we’re going to find, we’ve passed information and are ready to go.”

The Head Coach has named the same starting eleven for successive matches but insists the whole squad will be vital if Wolves are to achieve their aims this season.

“We’ve been speaking throughout the season about the squad. This squad is necessary for all competitions.

“This is about team work from the squad and who is playing is to keep playing good, performing well and doing their tasks. This is our philosophy.”

Romain Saiss has missed the Ipswich Town and Sheffield United victories through injury and Nuno spoke about injury prevention on Friday, which has lessened the amount of knocks this season.

“The fitness of the players is good and sometimes prevention is the best solution. If you can read the signs and prevent things from happening when you can see things are there then it’s better.

“Romain is improving, he’s getting better. All the players are doing a fantastic job, not only the players that play but the players that train, this is good,” he added.
