We're All Focussed

Conor Coady says Wolves are looking forward to Wednesday evening’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Wolves haven’t been in action for over a week following the postponement to the home game against Reading on Saturday due to adverse weather conditions.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s clash, Coady says that the players are fully focussed on the task in hand.

He said, “All the lads are focussed, the manager’s on at us every single day.

“We were disappointed we didn’t have the game on Saturday because we felt like we needed it - we wanted to put things right after the Fulham game.

“Everybody’s focussed on what they’ve got to do, we’re looking forward to it.

“There’s 12 games to go and there’s 12 massive games for us going forward.”

Wolves last Championship fixture saw them lose for just the third time away from home this season, losing 2-0 against in-form Fulham.

Coady concedes that Wolves won’t win every game but says that they are looking to bounce back from defeat against Leeds on Wednesday.

“We’re always confident, it’s a big part of how we play - we’re a confident team, we’ve done the same all season,” said Coady.

“There are good teams in this division and you’re going to lose some and going draw some, that’s the situation we’re in at the minute.

“What we’ve done quite well this season is bounce back from when that has happened - that’s what we need to do on Wednesday night.

“There are some great teams within this division, everybody is beating everybody.

“We’re just focussed on what we’ve got to do on Wednesday night - we go into every single game wanting to get three points and that’s no different tomorrow.

“Leeds are a massive, massive club and they’ve had a management change in the last couple of weeks which has helped them.

“We’re going there full of confidence, we know what we’ve got to do, we’ve been working on it for the last week and hopefully we’ll come away with three points.

“Hopefully we can keep doing what we’ve been doing and keep on getting better.”

Reflecting on the season so far, Coady exclaimed that the campaign, so far, has been ‘fantastic for the the football club’.

He says that there is a unity amongst the squad, a quality which he believes has benefitted the team throughout the season.

“It’s been fantastic for the football club this season, the manager’s taken it to a different level,” Coady continued.

"I think the most important thing is that he’s brought everyone together in terms of the club.

“The players who he’s brought in have really wanted to be a part of it - they’ve come in, they’ve bought into everything that’s the Championship.

“A few of these players were playing in the Champions League last season, it’s amazing really.

“To bring those sort of players in who want to be a part of this club and help this club was massive for us.

“The unity is really there and it’s helped us all season going forward to be honest.”
