Wolves were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City but hit the woodwork three times and had big chances throughout their first away game back in the Premier League.
Proud of his side’s efforts, but Nuno wants his players to show more quality in front of goal after failing to register against the Foxes.
“Of course, we are disappointed, but we have to be clinical,” he said. “We have talent but we must believe that we can score at every moment, the beginning, middle and end of the game.
“We started well, controlled the game, created chances. The but is that we didn’t score though, because we had chances.
“In football, when you’re the team that punishes first, then you can control situations better. We created enough to score goals.
“When they had ten men we controlled the game but when you’re chasing the game you must take some risks because everything can change if you score.
“Last week we created more, Leicester adapted with three centre halves, but the chances were there. You don’t prepare to play against ten men.”
The better side in the opening stages, Nuno is pleased with the effort and organisation he’s seen in the opening two Premier League games, and believes the supporters share his thoughts.
“I’m proud of the boys because we are playing the way we want. The team has things to improve and we’ll do it.
“The fans saw the game how we saw, that we could and should have done better. Thank you to our fans who supported us until the end.
“There are things we need to improve as a team to integrate new players in. The way we played today makes me proud but of course I’m not happy with the result.”
