Just before half time, Jimenez converted beyond Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal, but his finish was ruled out by the officials as Matt Doherty was alleged to have been in an offside position.
After the final whistle Coady said: “It would have made all the difference. I didn’t see it at the time, I was far back, and it wasn’t until half time when we were told it was a couple of yards onside.
“But it’s disappointing, really disappointing, because they’re the things you need to go your way in these kinds of games.”
After two goals mid-way through the first half from Erik Lamela and Luca Moura, the visitors added a third with just 29 minutes remaining when Harry Kane fired home, but Juan Foyth was twice penalised for fouling Wolves men in the area.
Both penalties were converted by Ruben Neves and Jimenez respectively to take the game to the wire, but Wolves could not manage an equaliser.
Coady added: “They’re a fantastic team and they move the ball well, but I think the goals we conceded were sloppy and we’re not happy with that. It’s not good enough from our point of view and we’ve got to do better.
“We gave it a fight at the end which we’ll always do. We’ll always show character and have a go until the end. It’s the kind of club we are, and the type of players we have in the team will never give up.
“You’ve got to look at the positives. We’re a team who’s learning, who’s growing, and we’ve come up against a really good team. But it’s the Premier League, it’s a tough division.
“We’re working on being clinical with our finishing, but I don’t think it should just be put on the front three boys. We’ve let in three goals today and that’s not like us, so we need to look at that and nullify it. We’ll look at it this week, see where we can improve, get better and go again.”
