The visitors had the win snatched away from them with three minutes remaining against Arsenal, but still had time to claim all three points when Morgan Gibbs-White struck the crossbar ever later.
What had come before was a spirited performance, involving organisation at the back and invention in the final third, which came so close to making it a third win in the capital this season.
“We gave absolutely everything, we’ve left everything out there,” he said. “To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. We came here with an objective to win, to stop the rut. We’ve been beaten three times and we didn’t want to carry that on.
“We fight for this football club every single day. Every player in there will tell you the same thing, we love playing for this football club and we fight for it, so it doesn’t matter where we are playing, we will always do that.
“To do what we’ve done on the pitch today, it’s how we want to play. The supporters know that. I think the supporters back us in terms of that as well which is fantastic. But to not come away with the three points is gut wrenching. We are absolutely gutted in there.”
When Arsenal equalised in the 87th minute, eyes were on the hosts to take the initiative, but from there Wolves remained the more threatening and the response in search of three points pleased Coady.
“I think that’s the impressive thing about having Adama on the pitch as well. He latches on to things, he’s rapid. Everybody knows the type of team we are I suppose, they know what they’re going to get from us and they know we will keep on going until the final whistle and we did that.
“The most important thing when you concede a goal is to not lose it, when you can go and win it as well. The actual performance is really pleasing from our point of view, we’ve come here, we’ve took it to them, limited them to barely anything really, but to not come away with three points is very disappointing.”
Three defeats came before for Wolves and, with the international weekend now upon them, Nuno and his side were determined to put in a solid performance and collect a result before players departed on international duty.
“The gaffer spoke to us at great length this week in terms of stopping the rot. It was one where we came here with the mentality to win like we do with every game, I think you have seen that with the counter attacking that we were doing as well.
“To stop the rot was the main thing, and we have done that. We hate getting beat, the weeks are dreadful they’re horrible at Compton and they become worse. But to come here and play as we have is really pleasing - we will probably come in on Tuesday and look back and it’s a good point at the Emirates.”
