The Mexican striker put Wolves ahead in the 83rd minute of the Premier League clash with Spurs after Willy Boly’s bullet header had cancelled out Harry Kane’s opener.
After Helder Costa sealed the victory with Wolves’ third, Jimenez was overjoyed with how Wolves were able to battle back to claim a memorable win.
On the Tottenham fight back
“I think we played very well in the second half, but I don’t know why we have to be down in the score to come back. We did it against Chelsea, now we did it again. This feeling is amazing.
“We knew at half-time that we have a great team, and that we can score some goals to win the game. We thought about that and what we had to do on the pitch.
“We never quit, we know that we are a great team, and if we are focused we can do everything, we can win against whoever.”
On half-time changes
“The words of the manager gave us the extra motivation for us to achieve the result. We never quit, we are always pressing, doing things that we know.
“We kept the ball better in the second half – that is the simple thing. We knew that when we take the ball off them it’s different for them. They don’t like to run behind the ball, so that was the thing we changed, and it was all very good.”
On the aims of the season
“With the confidence all of my teammates and the manager gives me, they know that I can do more for the team, and that confidence is very good for me. I’m proud of the team.”
On playing at Wembley
“It’s an amazing experience, coming to this stadium and have a match like this. I won the Olympics here at this stadium in 2012, so coming back again and winning against Tottenham is great.
“It was great to score in front of the Wolves fans. I have special feelings for them. They spend the whole match supporting us and it doesn’t matter if we are losing or winning, they are amazing and I’m proud of them too.”
