The Belgian international made his first start in the historic competition as Wolves knocked out the Premier League leaders with a 2-1 win at Molineux.
Following the clash, Dendoncker praised every member of the Wolves team for sticking to Nuno’s game plan as the side progressed through to the Fourth Round.
On the win over Liverpool
“The whole team worked a lot for this win and we kept on going. Even when they scored, at 1-1, I think we kept on going and it was a great performance of the team.
“It’s what the coach asked us – to work a lot and to be well organised. We tried to do that, and we tried to put them under pressure from the start and I think they had some difficulties trying to find the solutions. That was what we wanted and then after we were dangerous on the counter a couple of times and that’s where we scored from as well.”
On Wolves’ performance
“We can be proud of the team performance, especially against a team like Liverpool. It’s quite massive, but it doesn’t matter against which team we play, we always have to be there, we always have to perform and try to give everything and do our best. We have to keep on doing that and I think then we will be hard to beat.
“The whole team performed really well. We try to help each other a lot and that’s what we try to do every game.”
On starting against Liverpool
“I’m a little tired but I’m happy for the team. I’m happy for the win, I’m happy for the people and we will see what comes.”
On upcoming match with Manchester City
“It won’t be easy. As the coach said, we now play maybe the two best teams in the world – Liverpool and City.
“Now it’s City, and we have to go with the same spirit and be well organised, because they’re play at home and at home they are very strong, but we will see, and we will do our best and give everything.”
