Wolves had been continually thwarted until Romain Saiss broke the deadlock on 66 minutes, but that opened the game up for Jimenez to fire a brace in the final ten minutes. The two well-taken goals took the Mexican into double figures for the season and capped a good evening’s work all round at Molineux.
On his two goals
“It was amazing. All my team mates were fantastic today. It’s the first time I’ve scored two goals in a game so I’m very happy for that and the team performance.
“I’m very happy to score two and I had a chance at the end, maybe I could do a bit more, but this is football, sometimes it goes in, sometimes out.”
On the patience needed
“We were shooting and they defended all the balls, we kept working and looking for it, and it appeared.
“It’s difficult sometimes when you don’t score, but we’ll always keep going forward. I’m very happy to be part of this team and the way we won this game was fantastic.
“I’m going to be there, always, sometimes the goal appears, sometimes I have to make assists and sometimes movements can make the other score.
“It was a very tough game, but we knew how to play and in the second half we did very good things.”
On reaching double figures
“I think I’m doing things well. I’m an important part of the team, so that’s given me confidence. I’m giving good performances, so I’ll keep trying to do the same in the next matches.
“I’ve enjoyed it a lot. It’s amazing, the moment you hear the fans shouting your name. They are shouting because you score a goal, it’s an amazing feeling.
“I feel very comfortable here, so I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing to give the supporters much happiness. I think my season to the moment is good.”
On loving the Premier League
“It’s a dream. When I was in Mexico I always saw the matches here in the Premier League. It was amazing to watch the games, all the intensity and passion that the teams play with.
“Now, I’m here making my dream come true, so I’m going to keep working and doing the things to give supporters happiness.”
