Coady insists group must come together

Conor Coady insists Wolves must come together and rally to get back on track.

Defeat to SC Braga on Thursday was Wolves’ third on the spin and, despite plenty of positives in the performance, defeat was tough to take at a dejected Molineux. After being hit on the counter attack, Wolves failed to break Braga’s resolve and must make Selhurst Park the place to return to form.

On being hit by sucker punch

“We need to come together now, it’s important we get ourselves out of this little run we’re in as soon as possible because it’s a bad one and it’s not a nice feeling, believe me.

“I think it was how they set up. I think they set up to soak up pressure and try and catch us on the counter attack. That’s what they’ve done and they’ve got the goal off it.”

On the defeat

“We knew how tough it was going to be, but we went into the game wanting to do what we’d done to rectify Saturday and it’s so disappointing, it really is because it’s important that if we’re not going to score, we keep the scoreline zero and it’s mistakes that are costing us from everybody.

“It’s everybody out on that pitch who is causing them, so it’s important we come together now because we’re in a bad run of form and we need to get out of it.

“No matter what game we play in these days, it’s hard. We play in the Premier League, Europa League, they’re all top teams.”

On Braga’s gamesmanship

“You can’t moan about that. It’s what they do, that’s what they do when they’re in front, it’s as simple as that. We knew what was going to come, but the referee added six on, that was well enough at the end, but we couldn’t manage to grab that goal.”

On focusing on Crystal Palace

“It’s massive, but every game is. There’s no point in pin-pointing one game, every game is massive in the Premier League. So, we don’t think it’s a game we’ve got to go and win, we go there with our philosophy, our way of playing and hopefully go there to repeat the performance from last year.”
