The hosts had two Raul Jimenez goals disallowed by VAR in the first-half and the visitors seized the initiative in the second period, with Danny Ings capitalising on hesitation in the Wolves back line to put the Saints 1-0 up.
Although Jimenez’s penalty extended Wolves’ unbeaten run in all competitions to six games, Coady lamented the errors made by individual players during the draw.
On drawing with the Saints
“I feel that we let them off the hook a bit with individual errors. Sometimes those mistakes don’t cost us, but they did today.
“However, we always say that if we can’t win the game, we don’t lose, and we made sure we did that today. We can take that from it, but we need to learn, because like I say, we let them off the hook a bit.
“From my point of view, I’ve just lost concentration for the goal – I was trying to look at what was ahead of me to try to start a counter-attack, because I felt that it was quite an easy ball to control.”
On Jimenez’s disallowed first-half strikes
“We’ve got to get used to that, even though it’s tough. I can see that they’ve come to the right conclusion when I’ve seen it back – it’s offside for the second one.
“If VAR wasn’t in existence then we win the game. It’s one of those that’s tough to get your head around, but that’s how it is, and they’ve come to the right decisions.”
