In an eventful game on the south coast, Wolves led through Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez, and would face the second-half with an extra man after Simon Francis’ dismissal. However, the Cherries made life difficult for their visitors and a tough second period ensured Nuno’s feet remain firmly on the ground.
On an impressive first-half
“First-half I think we were better. We played really good in the first-half, created a lot of problems to a very good team, they changed a little bit, but we knew how to adapt, we adjusted and played very well.
“I think we performed really good, it’s a reference for us, the first-half was very good. We have to keep on going, we’ve had a lot of games already and we still have a tough challenge Thursday, then Sunday. What you did before is good, but only serves as a reference for the future.”
On a tough second-half
“I was thinking that the game was not over, and the proof was the second-half. Bournemouth reacted and we didn’t do all the things that we should have done.
“We had the possession of the ball, we created, but we were not fast enough, the way we found the spaces, the accuracy of our passes, and the game becomes dangerous.
“Bournemouth are a very good team and they created problems. Scoring the third goal we’d kill the game, but we lost the second-half, and we cannot lose the second-half with one man more.”
On playing ten men
“A man less is a dangerous game, what happened in the second-half must serve as a warning for the future because we cannot be passive in our building. We have to always try and go, but it’s very difficult to play here.
“Bournemouth showed a lot of character, long balls, set pieces and you’re on the edge until the end of the game. Eddie and his players are amazing, it’s so difficult to play in the middle of the park.”
On Traore’s impact
“He’s a very important player, like all the players. The idea is to create versatile players, that can adjust, we have a small squad so we need all of the momentum that the players must have.
“Now Adama is doing well, but I insist he has a lot of things to improve. It’s exceptional the way he helps the team, it’s not only the offensive work that he does, the defensive in keeping the shape and pressing, it’s amazing.”
