The two sides couldn’t be separated at Molineux and the tie finished in the stalemate, despite Wolves’ best efforts to find a way through. Coady believes the hosts were the better side, and deserved to progress on the night, but are prepared to do it all over again at Old Trafford next week.
On Saturday’s battle
“It was exactly that. We wanted to win the game. I think we did enough to win the game if I’m being totally honest, but it is what it is.
“We kept a clean sheet, we move forward, it’s another game, a great game at Old Trafford, so let’s move on.”
On pushing late on
“I think so. We were looking for it at the end. I thought we did enough to win the game, but we haven’t so we look forward to another game.”
On the tough schedule
“I don’t think it’s the long campaign, but the amount of games we had over Christmas. It was an awful lot, but it was the last game of a long cycle and we’ve got a week to prepare for the next game.
“There’s been a lot of games, everybody knows that, everyone sees it with Manchester United as well, making a couple of changes, for us it’s about taking the positives from it and moving forward.”
On looking ahead to the replay
“We wanted to win (on Saturday), you can see that with the chances we created, we probably should have won in the end, but it is what it is, a great game at Old Trafford which is great.”
